Held over one day in late 2012 at ESDI in Rio de Janeiro, this workshop was conceptualised and coordinated with designer and material researcher, Pedro Themoteo. Underpinned by my passion for history and making, the Autoprogettazione 1974 - ESDI 2012 asked participants to reflect on the ideas proposed by Enzo Mari in his eponymous project while making the DYI furniture that Mari suggested as antidotes to consumerism in 1974. As usual when putting experimental pedagogies in practice, food sharing was a key part of the day!
